More revamping of the bedroom
The only room in the apartment that I didn't really like was my bedroom... and so you've seen the bedding and bed that are helping make it much more cozy.
Mac's mom works at a great consignment shop in town and helped me find this great old bench that's now living at the foot of my bed. So blog poll: do I keep that rug there? or take it away and let it be just the bench?
Thoughts?

I bought a big-kid bed!
Thank the LORD for boyfriends with pick-up trucks. I bought the beer and Mac helped me pick up a new bed and headboard from the West Elm store at the Town Center.
So out with the old metal bedframe on wheels and box spring...

And in with the new bed that Mac and I put together while drinking some margaritas! (No, we did not have any extra parts left over!)

We had some fun while putting it together... mostly Mac got pumped about all the boxes he could play with.

The finished product, new bedding and all!

Please help.
For anyone who is still reading this, I have a personal challenge for you. Please do something. A good friend of mine, Sarah Jo, has recently had a relapse of an acute and aggressive form of Leukemia.
If you are financially able, please go to this site and considering donating something -- whether it is money, blood, platelets, etc. You can donate platelets every 3 days, and it only takes around an hour. Platelets are always in HIGH demand, so even if you do it on occasion, you will be helping a lot. http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org/all_page?item_id=8477
Call your local Red Cross chapter and get signed up to donate.

Nearly famous!
Things that have been fun about work lately:
— I taught my boss how to properly use the word, "woot." (See definition 2: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woot)
— I get to write A.M. Stir, a fun section about absolutely nothing. (http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/020908/lif_245153844.shtml)
— I get to write rants about how people honk at me while I'm riding my bike. (http://mystjohnssun.com/node/1095)
— Fun YouTube videos get passed around the newsroom that cause people to literally burst into uncontrolled laughter. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsDOVqwm7vs)
— We get sent a company newsletter that includes a 3-D cow we can cut out and put together and call our very own.

Survey time!
"Minnie" has requested an update, so this is the crap you get... maybe when I'm not in the middle of a 13 hour shift at work I will come up with something more original (but don't count on it!).

Graduated from college, got a job, and moved 1,000+ miles from home.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't really do resolutions. I prefer daily goals to ignore instead.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but everyone and their mom seemed to get engaged last year. Ugh.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not this year, thankfully
5. What countries did you visit?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I found out I was mildly lactose intolerant?

Mine. I learned to take care of myself finally!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Mine. Before I learned to take care of myself.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Biking. And Baking.

Santa brought me a bike...
Acutally, my tax refund from Canada bought me a bike... but they're close enough.
Behold: the Cannondale Six13. Yep. I'm quickly becoming that nut wearing spandex in public. Don't judge me-- I have never had more fun exercising!! And when it's 80 degrees all winter long, I have no excuse to not be outside playing!!

Christmas explosion!

41 days to XMas...
Christmas decorations to come.... I just have to finish sewing my damn stockings.
I swear I do more than decorate my apartment. For the few non-family members who read this, this is more my way of showing my mom that I'm a grown up who can sometimes clean... and a way of keeping her updated on how things look down here in sunny Florida.

My fall decorations.
My ledge in my living room:

My coffee table:

My kitchen table arrangement:

Outside my front door:

So... for our halloween issue, we decided to put a pumpkin on the front page. So naturally the task of carving the pumpkin fell on me. So I decided to buy the BIGGEST pumpkin possible... and not its living in my fridge to stay fresh until the shoot tomorrow.
